As computing power increases over time, as we understand how stuff works better, as we create better screens and such,
- reality as we know it is based on the premise of what we can feel (i.e. what we know that is true)
- such things we can feel are akin to inputs that we sense
- and our reality is formulated by a interpretation of such inputs when put together.

- what if we are able to determine the maximum possible resolution of such inputs? (i.e. quantifying how well the eye can see, how sensitive is our sense of touch?)
- what if we are able to take this knowledge, and immerse a person into such an environment with inputs at or exceeding the above mentioned resolutions?
- would the person perceive such an environment to be real then?

Possible issues:
subject would most probably be used to the physics of his body in reality at time of immersion, and may thus probably detect the subtle changes in the physics of his body (i.e. resistance while bending arms due to sensors on it etc) ..... therefore being able to perceive his current environment that he is in to be one inconsistent with reality and thus not true?
Work around:
However, person may be conditioned to experiences given sufficient time / convincing, (as may be seen in such cases where people switch from being right handers to left handers, after extended periods, left hand use becomes natural.)
so if we are able to convince the person that what he is feeling is actually normal, (for example, telling him that he was involved in an accident/ was injured, so his arms would feel a little funny) there would exist a possibility in actually creating a seamless virtual environment for the person, removing the ability of him to identify which reality he is in.
