Sunday, May 30, 2010 @ For Those About To Lose Their Minds, (We Salute You)
Did you know that, one day, every single human will wake up laughing?
We'll trip over each other, crash our heads, and then collapse back into laffing again.
Thursday, May 27, 2010 @ i cant remember the name of that cafe.
its this very, very, very, very amusing thing about overdosing on bubblegum pop. but well least its happy.

A lump rises in our throat at the sight of beauty from an implicit knowledge that the happiness it hints at is the exception.
Sunday, May 23, 2010 @ dips head in ice
a man rushes home, turns on the tap (for the basin, (near a window i think)). rushes to the freezer, takes out two bags of ice, tears open, pours both bags of ice into basin, dips head in water. camera switches to a "basin" view, showing his head in the icy water.
some time ago, cant remember when.

Saturday, May 22, 2010 @ Snozzle and choose Life
Happiness does not lie in tissue. breakfast maybe, but not tissues; or serviettes for that matter.
Nor does it lie in leaning back on your bag against the MRT door, forgetting the bag of ruffles chips inside constitute the pursuit of happyness.
Breakfast today, early. (rarely wake so early on weekends) Macs at JP, not bad, saw mr lee (guan shin) on the way there, Samuel Low in JP (does he stay in the hostel? nvm. he stays jurong anw). Bunch of hostel people at JP too.
Quite uneventful, save for the milo no ice (usually they give a ton of ice, as we know, but mysteriously little today. had to go for an ice top up halfway) . Malay guy (Macs staff) suddenly bursting into song (korean i think. something about "After all these years, there's two different tears" something along the lines. blame gayle for this knowledge of korean songs). beyond that, brekkie was quite mundane.
went on with joy and liqin up mrt east to expo. slept.
NOH, mundane. long queues, mundane. least it wasnt shining sunny.
up to changi after for lunch. intention to go SSS was cancelled - liqins main motivation decided not to wait for us.
wandered around, and waddled, back home.
still snozzling though.

The ruined monastery of San Lazaretto, on an island in the Venice lagoon, is a grim and spooky place.
Wednesday, May 19, 2010 @ ruler
today feels kinda surreal-ish. ("-ish" is unneccesary)
my brain is running in small circles and urgh.
left the bicycle in school though. so tommorows go-to-school plan would be something to think about. bus or the other bicycle?
either way, id have to wake up earlier.
i lost my ruler.

and we hide behind machines and things. why?
Friday, May 14, 2010 @ First solo flight tmr.
Tommorow, will be the first solo flight at 1140 to dunno when, 1 circuit (for starters, hopefully)
exercise will comprise three distinct segments
1) Last minute education section, 3 Circuits, get instructions and last minute teachings. last chance for consultation.
2) Assesment section, 3 Circuits, Mr leng wont speak and assess if i can go for solo. the idea is to be perfect for everything.
3) Solo section, 1 circuit, mr leng will exit the cockpit, leaving me alone in the cockpit. i fly one round and land. must be perfect.
---------
slightly unnerving.
tommorow we have
-ng sy (the nj PAC one), im not sure what she's doing.
-Sanjay, he's going into the area, so will not affect
- Chan hw , circuits also, will be a factor.
- Tan JG, i think he's going into area.
so i need to check with sy what she's doing. most likely eavesdrop in ops room to find out..
and keep a lookout for chan
Stuff to take note of:
- Land on the centreline, excecute turn at red roof country clubs.
- no need to refer to AH (Artificial horizon) unless scared of exceeding 30 deg aob
- let aircraft sink more if roundout height is high
- keep pulling, aircraft will settle nicely onto runway eventually
- go around if need to
- centreline centreline
- EFATO.
- call for early left if possible, (ie no traffic ahead in circuit)
- pray damn hard for no crosswind
pray that there is still hope for going onto phase III, for the ppl.

after one month of computerlessness, (3 weeks actually. last week dont count). the computer is now more or less working and jumping back at its usual pace. start up is insanely fast~
just saying anyway. so now you know why i dont reply emails and stuff or come online for so long (Sorry mr cheng and siewfong)
back anyway.
blah~
and yes, we love you very very very very very very much.
Sunday, May 09, 2010 @ this is the first day of my life
-
this ain't the first day of my life, least not yet.
-
flying was good today even though it was DPCO-ed (duty partially carried out).
runway directions have been weird lately, they cant decide runway 21 or 03 (opposite directions of runway). so took off from 03, did my left turn to downwind, and they announced for a change of runway to 21. circuit was saturated today with 5+1 aircraft! (usually only 2 or 3). visibility wasnt super, but it was cooling :D low clouds and this foggy thing all around , nice and cool. (Andreas complained it was hot though for his plane) . the engine sound was a little weird today, but didnt really affect anything much; got to watch a glide circuit, and did one normal circuit for 21 before they met warning-ed us down. good day overall.
point of contention however.
REMEMBER TO READ BACK TAKEOFF CLEARANCE.
round off attitude abit, alittle high, so balloned abit over the runway when landing
correct for winds in the correct direction! (pay attention to atc, dont turn wrong side)
don't drop preflight guide after flight on the aircraft dispersal area and not realise it. later another plane comes by and the book gets sucked into his engine .... goodgame :D
skylark 93 - skylark ops transmissions after start/pre taxi have to be clearer. listen out for clearance, and call say again if necc.
beyond that, it felt quite good!
so, after that, today was practically a trip round singapore. up from jurong into cck, up to woodlands, down to seletar, flew, down to amk, down to bishan, switch to circle line, off to paya lebar, get off at stadium (nice station), jalan jalan the KEC, up to esplanade go past marina, through bras basah into dhoby, down dhoby to harbor onto vivo, up vivo to the foot of m faber, down past blangah into henderson road, onto heights, bukit merah red hill, jalan tiong (?!) , Queens and commonwealth. off to jp and all the way home.
i missed out on the easterly side though.~
but close nuff i guess.
WAHAHA.
Saturday, May 08, 2010 @ temperamental YouTube
Saturday- (Seh-Ture-Day)
is a day when YouTube decides to be temperamental again;
Flying again tomorrow morning 1130, sortie 15, one more to solo hopefully.
Currently the last one left in BFC172 - we started with 22, dropped to 6, then to 4, and now to 2. JH's already in PPL already, leaving me the slow one who has yet to solo/ppl. BFC 173 has caught up already, Andreas (who i met on Friday when it was Cat 1 -ed) is already on sortie 14. Expected to have two guys from 173 in the circuit tomorrow too. and now for geography
Thursday, May 06, 2010 @
it's okay, it's alright, it's okay
Tuesday, May 04, 2010 @ you win some you lose some
you win some :
- to run on "happiness" for an entire day. (a prediction of imminent exhaustion-induced sleep in the next few hours)
- to realise that gases for chem isnt that hard after all. its just physics rehashed.
- I finally get a flight tommorow :D
- Nice rain rolling in
-
-----------------------------------------------------------
You lose some:
- bicycle seems to be busted as far as anything is concerned. gear shift issues. the shop doesnt have the parts, so have to send the bike back to warehouse. currently stuck on 7 rear gears and front gear jammed in middle setting. (lost the 15% gears)
- Geography worksheet, i dont have. dont remember seeing it either.
- Differentiation notes also bo ki.
- Abrasion from bag straps rubbing.
- Spooked back
-------------------------------------------------------------
You hmm thoughtfully at some:
- the wind blowing in from the window was momentarily faster than the fan speed (blowing in opposite direction) . leading to a visible reduction in fan RPM and nice sound effects. cool :D
-------------------------------------------------------------
wednesday :D (do i still have to drop my dso pass tmr?)
Monday, May 03, 2010 @
diminishes with the square of gravity?
@
Sunday, May 02, 2010 @ there are
-
fact is, in this world there exists a variety of types of people.
- the aces, who get most things right most of the time
- the almost-aces, who get things right frequently enough
- the others, who don't get things right because they often don't have a chance to answer
- the other others, who tend to fail quite frequently and grumble after
different kinds of people do exist in this world, and often enough doubt may hit some of the existence of others out there. not a pleasant truth, but still a fact.
- some people choose to be happy
- some people choose to be sad
- some people choose not to care
- some people do not get to choose
choose, as the word goes, turns into a strange enough word once you spend enough time looking at it. stemming from choice, behind choosing lies a freedom, one which however frequently does not exist.
and then there are the other cases
- some people can't bring themselves to choose
so what then?
the tangle of it all, of life in fact, belies in the fact that people tend to pretend that other people, as if people reading were a science, could be categorized and predicted in an empirical way. stereotyping and assumption as it is often called; simplifying life to a great extent for many, but losing out on the essence. the things that matter.
who are we to categorize, separate, stereotype, divide, set apart, and make assumptions about others?
when a ship runs aground, or when the winds do not blow, when there is no direction to follow and no fire within; what is to be done?
